Some people share everything. On every site. Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest…It’s all the same. I can quite get over that hump. I think this is where Google Plus really tried to make a difference with “Circles” but by then, I was so worn out on social networks that I had no desire to fill out my profile for another group (like many of us). So back to my information silos.. Facebook, for me, is about Family and friends, LinkedIn is purely professional, while Twitter is professional development. I know, I know, I’m beginning to sound like the old-fashioned scrooge that I am. But to me, these silos protect my version of privacy. It is about me figuring out how to brand myself on each of these networks, and connect there.
